Grindsted
Today,
Grindsted town centre is a charming mix of classic Danish architecture from the 1920s and 30s and more modern buildings. A bustling centre of activity with ample opportunity for shopping and enjoying café life and culture.
Billund
Almost everyone who visits
Billund for the first time exclaims: "Wow, it's all so new!" And they are quite right. Billund is a young town, a very young town. And a very special town.
Stenderup-Krogager
In the most south-westerly corner of Billund Municipality lies the village of
Stenderup-Krogager. The reason why it has a double-barrelled name can be discussed at length. But we'll leave that aside for now. Instead, visitors to the area should ask one of the locals. And then ask someone else. You'll doubtless get a completely different answer!
Sønder Omme
Perhaps you didn't know, but
Sønder Omme is actually the northernmost town in Billund Municipality. It is situated beside the picturesque River Omme. Marvellous views of the river can for example be enjoyed from many of the rooms at the inn.
Vorbasse
Small town, big history. That's the best way to introduce
Vorbasse. For despite its size, the town's history is exceptional by Danish, or even Northern European, standards. While we can only guess the ancient history of other towns and cities, Vorbasse's past has been painstakingly mapped out through some of the most comprehensive archaeological excavations ever performed in Denmark.
Filskov
Filskov is situated just south of the River Omme. It is no metropolis, but a fine village. One of the finest there is, in fact. Although the locals have known this all along, it was of course nice to have it confirmed when Filskov was named Danish Village of the Year in 2003.
Hejnsvig
Hejnsvig on Top. That is the name of an organisation consisting of active participants from private companies, public institutions and local clubs and associations among others. Its goal is clear and simple. Promoting Hejnsvig outwardly while inwardly creating a solid framework for growth.
